This is one of those cards that I was working on in my head for weeks before I actually put it together. Wow, now I am suddenly feeling inadequate with all the pressure I've just put on myself! ;-)
The Create a Critter cartridge is just full of hidden gems! I LOVE this little fish bowl and have been dying to make a card with it, so when I saw that the theme for Challenge Me Monday at Fantabulous Cricut was "At the Zoo" I took my chance to make my fishy card.
A word to the wise: when you are using this cartridge to make a fish to go inside your fish bowl, DO NOT assume that if you leave your size dial at the same setting that the fish will be the correct size! I cut the fish bowl at 3 1/2" and ended up with a fish that was enormous! I ended up cutting the fish at 1". Now what am I going to do with an enormous paper goldfish cracker...?

A little bling, anyone?
This is going to make me sound really weird, I realize, but do you ever find yourself creating your next project in your head before you even sit down to work on it? Well, I was pondering what I would like to do with the Forever Young cartridge, and starting thinking about this zebra print paper, then the colors that I wanted to incorporate, and the silhouettes on the cartridge, and I knew there was a cool hat...
And voila!

Christmas in July
Phew! I'm sorry this was such a long time coming. I hope it was worth the wait! I had a lot of family staying with me last week. It was wonderful, but sad to say that they are all gone now, including my mother's Cricut Expression! Waaahhh! And not only does she have the Expression, but she bought a Gypsy while she was here too! That's OK, I've got a couple of new additions also. I bought the Mini Monsters and Forever Young cartridges and can't wait to try them!
To celebrate the fact that we have been dangerously close to triple digits here in Utah, I thought I would make a Christmas card! ;-)
This was made using the reindeer from the Create a Critter cartridge, since that is the only Christmas image I have! Hmmm, another shopping opportunity?

A little word on domesticity
I was curious to see what definitions I would find if I googled "domesticity". One of the definitions was, "A house servant; a maid," which made me chuckle because it certainly feels that way sometimes. My favorite definition was, "Affection for the home and its material comforts." There is just something very satisfying about creating things that add to the material comforts of your home, isn't there?
I am in heaven right now because I am experiencing domestic life at it's best. My parents are visiting from out of town and we are busy with outings and just spending time together as a family. I love it. I haven't had a lot of time to sit down and create but I have been enjoying teaching my mom a little about how to use her Cricut - and now I want an Expression even more!

MPS Design Team Submission
This is my MPS design team submission [sigh]
Recipe:
Cardstock: DCWV Spring Glitter Stack, Citrus Stack, Pastel Cardstock Stack, Spring Glitter Matte Stack, AC Cardstock, Georgia Pacific White
Cricut Cartridges: Walk in My Garden, Opposites Attract
Accessories: Studio G glitter glue, gems, corner rounder punch
For the daisy border I used the “border” function on the Walk In My Garden cartridge, set at 2” and repeated 3 times. The large daisy was cut at 3 1/2”.
