Even though it is hot as Hades outside right now, at this time of the year my mind inevitably starts thinking of Autumn. It's my favorite time of the year for so many reasons, not the least of which being that I love apples. They were my inspiration for my most recent Cricut Creations class project at my local Joann. They had these really cute Darice chalk boards, so I picked one up and embellished it using the Country Life Cricut cartridge.
These are the colors that I have in my kitchen, so eventually this will be sitting on my kitchen counter (or maybe hanging on the wall), so I can leave messages for my kids, write what we're having for dinner, and who knows what else. I'm sure the kids will get in on the fun too, so hopefully whatever is written on here stays polite! ;-)
Cricut Cartridge: Country Life (apples, pie, Get Cookin'), Plantin Schoolbook (ovals and scallop trim)
Paper: Me & My Big Ideas (stripes), DCWV (red gingham), AC Cardstock
Accessories: Diamond Glaze, DCWV (buttons)

I really like your project. I didn't think I needed this cart but you have inspired me to give it more consideration.
What a great idea for embellishing the chalk board and very nicely done!!
This is a gorgeous project, Andrea; perfect paper choices and cuts.
Love the cuts you selected. This would look great in any kitchen!
Hi there, I found you through pink stamper. I have very much enjoyed browsing your blog. So many cute ideas!
Absolutely love the chalkboard. What a great project for my preschool. They would have a lot of fun decorating.
Could you tell me the size. Is is 5x7?
I know they are on sale this week at Joanne so I want to pick them up.
Thanks
Sharon
Sharon - I used the 7 x 10 size. Sounds like a fun project for your preschool. Have fun!
Thanks so much!
Sharon
