Today I am featuring Girlie Sayings:
Robyn always come up with the cutest "play on words" sentiments.
I decided that I needed to stretch my creativity a little with the palette I chose for this card. I tend to shy away from the warmer tones. And quite frankly, it's a challenge to try and make this many colors work together. Did I succeed? I'm not sure. :-) The papers and colors for this card are all from American Crafts, specifically from their "Love" line. I think it has kind of an eclectic vintage look to it, which I thought was perfect for the hat and the sentiment.
Stamp: My Pink Stamper Girlie Sayings
Cricut Cartridges: Kate's ABC's (hat), Sweet Treats (scallop), Plantin Schoolbook (circle)
Paper: American Crafts (Love line)
Embellishments: DCWV (buttons), Martha Stewart (pearl), baker's twine
If you haven't already, be sure to head over to My Pink Stamper so you can check out the whole new release. And in more fun news - My Pink Stamper stamps now come in an exclusive pink photopolymer.

My Pink Stamper Design Team - March
I am so excited to have you join me today for the My Pink Stamper Design Team post. The theme for this month is Spring is in the Air! And I am so happy that it actually IS starting to feel like spring. I love looking out my kitchen window and seeing the blossoms on my fruit trees and the tulips starting to pop out of the ground. I also love the colors that we were asked to use in this month's assignment - yellow, blue and green. The stamp set that I am featuring in this month's assignment is Happiest Moments:
Don't you just love daisies? These accordion flower wreaths are all the rage on Pinterest right now, and I think daisies were the perfect touch. I used a foam wreath form that I purchased at Joann, and hot glued the accordion flowers and daisies to the wreath. I was so happy with how this turned out I put it on my front door - but had to rescue it this morning just as the rain started coming through the screen! April showers...wait a minute, it's still March!
Cricut Cartridges: Sweet Treats (daisy), Florals Embellished (butterfly)
Paper: Provo Craft, DCWV (glitter paper), AC Cardstock
Embellishments: The Paper Studio (pearls), Hobby Lobby (ribbon)
Tools: Martha Stewart Scoring Board
Thanks for stopping by today. If you haven't already, I suggest you head over to My Pink Stamper so you can see all the wonderful Design Team projects. And of coarse, you can also find out where to purchase My Pink Stamper stamps!
UPDATE : I've received a few questions regarding how I made my wreath. I made the accordion flowers in three sizes by cutting strips that were 1 1/2" x 12", 1 1/4" x 12", and 1" x 12".
And this is the type of form that I used as the base. It's a foam wreath that has squared off edges. The one I used was 10 inches in diameter.

My Pink Stamper Design Team - November!
Welcome! Are you all eagerly preparing to feed your friends and family on Thanksgiving? Are you cleaning your home so you'll be ready for company? Are you absolutely flabbergasted that time has flown by so quickly and that it's that time of year again? ;-) Well in the midst of all the chaos don't forget to take a moment for yourself and spend some quality time with your papercrafting supplies - especially your My Pink Stamper stamps and your Cricut!
This month my fellow designers and I were given the challenge to create a card using a non-traditional fold. I was really excited about this because trying something new really gets my creative juices flowing - just the inspiration I need. I decided to try the tri-shutter fold. This is what it looks like flat:

The theme for this month's hop is all about SUMMER! Can I just say, I am so relieved that it is finally starting to feel like summer here. It was a long winter, followed by a long, cold, wet spring. But now the weather is starting to warm up, my children are out of school, and my garden is planted I can feel the relaxation that comes with the lazy days of summer. Well, I have three young children and a yard full of weeds so it won't be that lazy - but you know what I mean!
One of my favorite things about summer is celebrating the Fourth of July. To me it means spending time with family, parades, fireworks, and feeling very grateful for this wonderful country I live in. I realized that it had been a while since I have played with my vinyl, and I found these totally adorable patriotic pinwheels at Joann, so I decided to make a patriotic centerpiece. And since Robyn recently released a most fabulous patriotic stamp set called Freedom Rocks, I also had the perfect stamp to go along! To see all of Robyn's fabulous stamps click here, and for more information about where to purchase My Pink Stamper stamps click here.

FCCB Challenge #39 - Gifts Galore
I have been making these journal/stationary sets for years, but this is the first year that I've been able to use my Cricut to make them! They are so fun to make, and a great way of using your "stacks" that already have paper that is meant to coordinate. And when you wrap them up in cellophane they look so pretty!
There are 5 items in this gift set:
If you would like more specific instructions, just leave a comment with your email address. Don't forget to spell it out using "at" and "dot" instead of "@" and "." so you don't have to worry about people you don't want using your email address. We'd love to see you over at the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge blog for this week's challenge!
Cricut Cartridge: Sweet Treats
Cardstock: DCWV, AC Cardstock
There are 5 items in this gift set:
- A journal, which is an embellished composition book. I always stock up on these when you can get them for $.25 at back to school time.
- A 2 year calendar/planner - I usually buy these at Michaels, and I think they usually are available starting in September - sometimes in the dollar section, sometimes they have a separate "calendar" section. You need the ones with the clear covers that you can slip off.
- An embellished notepad. I try to pick these up at a dollar store.
- An embellished Pentel R.S.V.P. pen
- A bookmark - which is basically an embellished paper clip. In the past I have used the enormous, long paper clips but they are getting harder to find and are expensive. So this year I switched to these cool round ones that I found at Office Depot.

Cricut Cartridge: Sweet Treats
Cardstock: DCWV, AC Cardstock
I have had a number of people ask for more detailed instructions, so here they are:
Directions for Embellished Composition Book
The directions are going to vary somewhat depending on what brand of composition books you get. I always get the ones at Wal-Mart.
Spine: 9 ¾ x 5
Front upper right: 5 ½ x 4 ¼
Front lower right: 5 ½ x 5 ½
Front long strip (next to spine): 9 ¾ x 5/8
Front short strip: 5 ¾ x 3/8” except if you’re planning on using a punch, then you’ll want it wider. I started at 1” and then trimmed to my liking.
Back: 9 ¾ x 5 ½
Here are some more suggestions:
- use good quality cardstock because the liquid glue will soak through the lighter weight stuff far too easily, EXCEPT…
- It is easiest to use paper on the spine. Cardstock can be a little tricky to wrap around the front and back of the spine. It can be done – what I do is rub the cardstock width-wise along a sharp edge (like a counter-top), and that helps create a curve that you can ease around the book.
- Remember, these dimensions may vary slightly depending on the size of your composition book

Think Pink!
Among many other brave women in the world, two of our sisters in the online scrapping/crafting community are battling breast cancer. If you would like to support these two individuals in their fight, you can find more information here. Here are the cards that I have made.

Just a quick card that I made for a birthday party that my daughter will be attending this weekend. I have to say, I'm really loving my DCWV stacks these days. The background paper on this card came from the Nana's Kids Paper Stack. Is is SO easy to make a cute card when you have cute paper, and a great image from your trusty Cricut. The cake and the number 9 comes from the Sweet Treats cartridge - still my favorite.

MPS Color Challenge - and really, it was!
This one was definitely a challenge. You want to give me three colors that I would never think to put together in a million years? They would have to be brown, green and yellow. But once again I have learned that it is all about having the right shades to work together. This card isn't terribly inventive, I admit. But hey, considering that I've been sick I think it turned out pretty well.

MPS NSD Challenge #6 - Kids Craft, Too
Well, this one was easy. My daughter came in while I was posting previously, and said, "I'm bored!" So I told her to go make something on the Cricut. "Really? And you'll post it on your blog too?" I sure will!
MPS NSD Challenge #2 - Getting Scrappy
I have 2 girls that LOVE to play in my crafting supplies, so there are always lots of scraps to be had - usually laying all over my desk. I made this cupcake using scraps, one of which even had cuts in it - just not deep enough to have used the shape. Miraculously the Cricut cut in an area where the grooves would be covered up by the layer.

My Pink Stamper - Gallery Submission
As I have mentioned before, my recent obsession has been My Pink Stamper. This is a great website for anyone looking for creative papercrafting ideas, but especially ideas on how to get the most out of your Cricut. Recently she put a call out for the first ever Pink Designers, so I of coarse submitted some of my work to be considered. Although I wasn't chosen to be a member of the design team (Yet! I still have high hopes for the future!), I was invited to submit one of my projects to the new Gallery. I chose my Bling Cupcake that you can see below, or here.

Very Valentine
I am helping out with the activities for my daughter's Valentine party, so I had to come up with some easy crafts for them to do. It's really hard for me to tone things down and remember these are children who don't want to spend forever making projects like these, and will most likely rip them to shreds shortly after (or during) the party anyway. And with it being Valentine's Day, I had to try and tone down the pink and hearts and come up with something the boys could do too. So this is what I came up with:
- Matchbooks with Sweetarts inside - frogs for the boys and hearts for the girls
- Magnets - the little red and white lips are mounted on chipboard and have the peel and stick magnets on the back
- Valentines to give away - I was informed by my girls that the Valentines had to have candy with them, so cellophane bags with toppers it is! But instead of ribbon, staples, because I was making almost 50 of them after all. Whatever happened to those boxes of paper Valentines that you could just pick up at the store?
- A Valentine for the teacher - I am just loving the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge and Doodlebug Design paper. Cupcakes and pink & brown - I'm so trendy!

A cute idea for Valentine's Day
Who knew the Dollar Spot at Target could be so much fun? Normally it is the bain of my existence because my girls love it and spend their hard earned money on little trinkets and lip balm and other such girly things. However, every year Target gets these adorable little mail boxes that can be embellished and blinged to your heart's content. Apparently they were available in 3 colors: pink, red and white. I say apparently because as soon as these things hit the shelves they are gone and I feel lucky to have found the few that I have. It never ceases to amaze me that there are crafty people out there that can look at something like a plastic and aluminum mail box and think, "I can decorate that!" Thank you, oh crafty people, from those of us who need to copy your good ideas. They are so fun to embellish too. Can you tell from the pictures what I got for Christmas? My in-laws got me a Cricut and I'm loving it, so much that I think I need new blades already...
I think these are such a fun gift idea, and not just for Valentine's Day. You can fill them with treats and give them as a gift, or you can give one to your kids and leave little love notes in them.
